Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains what AskRankly collects, why, and what control you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to run your check and deliver your report, and we don't sell your data.
What we collect
- What you enter: your website, email, and optionally product name, category and competitors.
- Report data: the questions we ask, the AI answers we receive and the scores we calculate.
- Abuse prevention: a signed device identifier stored in a cookie and your browser's local storage, plus a one-way hash of your email and of your IP network. We use these only to enforce one free check per person and to prevent abuse.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your email, the product bought and payment status. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
To run the check, deliver your report and verification codes, provide customer support, prevent abuse, and send emails you've asked for (such as a re-check). We don't use your data for advertising and we don't sell or rent it.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run AskRankly: AI providers (OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Anthropic) receive the questions about your product category, not your email; our email delivery provider sends your code and report; Stripe processes payments; our hosting provider stores the data. Each processes data under its own terms.
Cookies
We use one functional cookie for the device identifier described above. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Retention
We keep reports and related data while your report link is active or your plan is running. Hashed abuse-prevention records are kept so the one-free-check rule works. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your choices
Email support@askrankly.com to access, correct or delete your data, or to unsubscribe from any email. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and email paying customers about material changes.
